A strong conviction: Discipline
Without discipline you will:
-have weak and unreliable faith
-have a poor and up-and-down testimony
-have life of minimal service for God
-have a weak prayer life
-be much more prone to debilitating defaults
-have poor work ethic
With discipline you will:
-be able to walk with God and not forsake prayer to the excuse of not feeling like it
-be able to learn and study and grow
-be able to do things when you don't feel like it
-be responsible to others, and keep your word
-have more potential to break free from life-killers, like wrong assumptions and bad habits

Hi Nigel - I can highly recommend a book I am reading called "The Spirit of the Disciplines" by Dallas Willard - p. 68 - " The disciplines are activities of mind and body purposfully undertaken, to bring our personality and total being into effective cooperation with the divine order." I'm loving it so far!
